Digital Media

Digital media are any media that are encoded in a machine-readable format. Digital media can be created, viewed, distributed, modified and preserved on computers.

Photoshop is an example of digital media. A lot of advertisements use this editing site, for example, magazine covers. Every magazine brand that gets published always has been edited before it actually does gets sent of to be published.

This magazine cover is a brand called ''Marie Claire'', this is an example of before and after it has been edited on photoshop. As you can see clearly that they have edited the lines around her face and evened out her skin tone and this would have been done using a mixture of tools. For example, the spot healing tool and the surface blur to make her skin look flawless.

Digital media is used widely across commercial image making to enhance the quality of the work, this can be within posters, CD covers, and even exhibited work. There is a potential to push boundaries and create things that you wouldn't be able to do without actually using digital media. For example, graphic design, posters, multiplicity, these are all done by the help of digital media.
